Spring Fling CLASSroom Sketch and OCC Challenges

Since I started craft blogging, I've met so many new friends and found out about more fabulous stamp companies. One such company is Ellen Hutson's webstore. I love their current stamp of the month. Ellen in her CLASSroom blog issued a sketch challenge. The winner gets the Stamp of the month kit, so I just have to play. Here's their sketch:

Over at Our Creative Corner blog, the challenge is to make a Mother's day card. Since I live overseas, I already sent out my cards a couple of weeks ago. But, I can think of several sweet friends here in Croatia to whom I can send this card.

So combining both challenges, here's my card.

The flower image is my own drawing. It's printed with the sentiment on the computer. And I've finally done some water coloring again, using SU reinkers. I always think coloring is my weakness, so I don't usually do it. But, I've been inspired by so many beautiful cards out there that I just have to try again. The colors used are Old Olive, Summer Sun and Really Rust.

It's hard to see on the pic, but I paper pierced the X's on the patterned paper (Urban Prairie Collection by Basic Grey) and added pearls in the center. The ribbon is by SU and the button is by Basic Grey.

ETA: You can download this flower image as a freebie on this post.

  5. This is gorgeous! I was going to ask who made the stamp and then I saw that you drew it yourself. You should be working with a stamp company girl!
