Lots of Echo Park Cards

I have been in a creative, designing moode the last few days (have you noticed my new blog header?) and made tons of cards to give away as gifts to our friends and family. So, watch out for picture-heavy dose of posts the next couple of weeks. Before I go further, make sure you check out my blog contest giveaway HERE.

One thing you may not know about me is I'm very frugal. I grew up with humble means and that has made me very careful on how I spend my money. It has been wonderful being able to earn some on the side with designing, so I have relaxed a bit on this :). I never pay full price for anything. I am very patient to wait for them to be on sale. Such is the case with Echo Park's Victoria Gardens paper collection, which I loved from the very first time I saw it, but wouldn't full price on it. Finally, after months of waiting, Two Peas had it at 50% off and I bought it! I have made over 15 cards with this collection and still have lots leftovers.

Here are some to share with you. This one uses a beautiful Hero Arts stamp that I won from PC Mag's Gallery contest a few months ago. The sentiment is from The Craft's Meow's Celebrating You set.

The small butterflies are Hero Arts digis, which were colored with Copics to match my SU Baja Breeze ribbon.

These next cards were made quickly and easily.

I used Layers of Color's Sent with Love stamp set on this one.

  4. Beautiful and thanks for the lesson. I love the new header. How do you do that? With a computer program? Then you must use digital images?

  5. I'm with you Nina -- I try to stretch my budget as far as possible. Usually I have to wait for sales or do without. It just adds to the challenge of being creative with the materials I am fortunate enough to have. Love your cards -- the hydrangea card is my favourite today. Thanks for sharing!

  6. Love your new header - I noticed it straight away.
Love those cards - they are stunning.
Like you I try to buy on special.... but I am not always successful. Last year I went to a show and priced dies on three different stalls with three different prices - needless to say I bought the cheapest :-)
