Smiles

I took a break from my holiday card-making project and made today's card that used up some scraps laying around on my desk. This is pretty clean and simple. The papers are by Simple Stories.
PB-Smiles
I stamped and colored with Copics my Penny Black Petal Party stamps.I did something a little different with my coloring. I only blended the lighter shades of red and left the dark center. I kind of like the unique look. As usual, lace, twine and button are also used on my card :).

Thanks a Bunch

It's a sad day for me as this is my last post as Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday Guest DT. I have had a great time, creating with their beautiful stamps. I made this card for the Flourishes family for allowing me to be part of theirs this month. Thank you so much!

The theme for this week's Timeless Tuesday is to make the focal image fall off the page. For my card, I placed the gorgeous flowers off the top of my card base. The flowers are from the With Gratitude stamp set, which I colored with Copic markers (from the Lenten Rose Collection).
Flourishes
I love the sentiments in this set. The papers are Collage Press' London Market. I highlighted the small flowers and sentiments with Want2Scrap pearls.

Hugs

I am showing you a card using some of the Want2Scrap new Summer CHA releases. This card was shared on the Want2Scrap blog a few days ago. And guess what? I didn't use any bling this time, which was really hard for me to do :). I wanted to highlight the other paper crafting "essentials" from the W2S store.

I used the Garden Motif - Silhouette  here on my card as an accessory to the Copic colored flower (from The Craft's Meow's Beautiful Spring stamp set).
W2S-Hugs-det1
Here you can see the full card. I just love those delicate garden silhouettes. The papers are by My Mind's Eye.
W2S-Hugs
My sentiment and tag are from The Craft's Meow's Love Dwells Here stamp set. The tag is die cut using Spellbinders Home Sweet Home dies. I accessorized the tag with the Card Size Antique Keys w/hardware - Chipboard attached by a simple twine.

Mass-Produced Cards Tutorial and Winners

For my The Craft's Meow's preview post, please scroll down below or click HERE.

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a relaxing weekend. As promised, I am showing you how I mass produced some of my Christmas cards this year. It's pretty simple really and it starts with a basic sketch. I made at least 24 cards from one paper pack.
Supplies
Instructions (Click photos to enlarge):

1. Cut various dies from 6 sheets of the paper pack. I cut two sheets at a time. Die cut labels from kraft and/or sand cardstock. I do this while watching TV or something else with the family.
2. Cut 1” (2.5 cm) off the remaining 18 of the 6x6 papers. You will end up with 18 sheets of 6" x 5". Save the 1" strips for later use.

3.Cut 12 of the sheets in half. Cut the remaining 6 in quarters. You will end up with 24 - 3"x 5" panels and 1.5"x5" strips:
4. Mix and match solids/prints of the patterned paper pieces, one panel and one strip for each card:
5. Adhere them to coordinating folded A5 cards. Stitch the top and bottom edges of the patterned papers, if desired:
6. Put together tags (see previous post):
7.  Adhere tags to front of cards. I made three versions:
Easy (added twine only to the tag, no stitching)
NBD-Card-Easy
Intermediate (added folded ribbon and some stitching)
NBD-Card-Intermediate
Fancy (added ribbon, button and twine, stitching)
NBD-Card-Fancy
I will show other cards later using the other die cuts. You can see others that I already posted on my blog here and here.

And now, the WINNERS of the NinaB Designs Blog HopThe Spellbinders' Ironworks Accents and Dies go to...Shartl (from Linda's blog). The winners of my Layers of Color stamps is Lisa's Creative Niche (from Clare's blog). Winners, please email me via Contact tab above with your info within 4 days (till October 26) in order to claim the  prize. Under the subject line, please put "NinaB Designs Oct 2012 Blog Hop winner." This will help with organization and avoiding confusion. Thanks for understanding!

The Craft's Meow Previews: Christmas Angel, Hearth and Home

Welcome to The Craft's Meow's October Release previews. I'm excited to share with you my new set called Christmas Angel. It has an image of a beautiful angel and several sentiments for outside and inside your cards to go with it.

I have a shabby chic card for you today with lots of vintage touches and lacey loveliness :). Of course, I had to use my favorite vintage-inspired company, Melissa Frances, for the papers.
TCM-Angel
I used Copic markers to color the angel. Buttons, seam binding and roses are the finishing touches.
TCM-Angel-det
The TCM team is also highlighting my friend Elizabeta's set called Hearth and Home. It has a fireplace image that you can make rustic or elegant, like I did below.  I added the border from Vintage Clocks to coordinate with the damask pattern on the fireplace. I tied two jingle bells to the seam binding bow.
H&H-card
I paper pieced and colored with Copics my main image. A little of bit of Want2Scrap bling was added to the fireplace flourish design. The papers are again by Melissa Frances.

Glitz and Glam Card

Today I have a very fancy card that took me longer than usual to make, but it was so much fun! I made this for this week's Crafty Friends Challenge. Jenn Balcer is our hostess and she challenged us to create something Glitz and Glam. How fabulous is that! :)

I stamped (Penny Black's Hanging Treasures set) and die cut the ornaments (Spellbinders' Heirloom Ornaments 2012). I fancied them up by adding Want2Scrap's Beautiful Bling Borders-Fancy That! It looked top heavy, so I balanced the layout by adding a row of W2S Sleek Strips Silver Rhinestones- Self Adhesive on the bottom. The papers are my Penny Black Madison pad.
PB-W2S-b
Here's a closeup of the card. The sentiment is from W2S Chipboard Sentiments- Words of Love.
I covered it with wet glue, then sprinkled some Art Glitter on it. I "hung" the ornaments using twine and decorated them with paper flowers.
PB-W2S-det
That is one sparkly card! I hope you can join us at the Crafty Friends Challenge this week!

Celebrate the Season

I'm here with my card for the Timeless Tuesday Challenge by Flourishes as this month's Guest DT. The challenge is to create a winter-themed project. I decided to create a wintery background using the detailed images from Seasonal Wreaths. I just love these beautiful wreaths that are perfect not just for the holidays, but year-round.

Flourishes-Winter
I did the Emoss-Resist Technique on my card using various Memento inks. The border is a die cut using Spellbinders' Asian Accents, which I designed for Spellbinders. I just love the pop of red, don't you? I highlighted the wreaths by adding Want2Scrap bling. The sentiment is by SRM Stickers.
