Pretty flowers and topiary

I've been paper crafting like crazy for upcoming blog hops, submissions and church-related events, but can't quite share them with you yet. I made these a few days ago and the sketch for both follows 2Sketches4you and the stitching follows the Crazy4Challenges. The pretty flowers follow the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge this week to "show the "earth rejoicing"... flowers blooming, oceans roaring, trees bursting with fruit, mountains and hills 'clapping'." And the different embellies follow the Pile It On 3-dimensional challenge.

For the first card, I did a checkerboard design instead of the polka dots from the sketch and made the circle a bit off centered. The quote on this card is perfect for the SSIC challenge. It says, "O magnify the Lord with me...He is the soul's unfailing spring, its full orbed summer noon, the autumn of its harvesting, its winter's restful boon" by Calvin Laufer.

Stamps: Lord of the Season (GinaK Designs)
Paper: In the Navy (GKD), Bravo Burgundy, Autumn Leaves PP
Ink: Cream pigment
Other: ribbon trim by Offray, sewing machine, flowers by Joanns and Prima

For the second card, I flipped the sketch sideways. This card uses two of my favorite things right now: lace and Soft Sand cardstock.

Stamps: Lord of the Season and Many Wishes (GinaK Designs)
Paper: Soft Sand (GKD), Vintage Holly digipaper, K&Co. Wild Saffron
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Copics, Real Red
Other: ribbon and lace from my stash, sewing machine, GKD Holiday buttons, SU Curly Label punch

BTW I spent 2 months in Quezon City back in 1969. I know that you are American-Filipino but where does your family hale from in the Philippines? (If you don't mind me asking.) It was such a special time for me and what a beautiful country and people.
