I love this color combo

I posted a few weeks ago about my favorite combo is black, white and one other color. The one other color usually falls in the red family. This is why I had so much fun playing along StampTV's color challenge this week to use red, black or any shades thereof. I was busy all weekend using this color combo to fill in orders. I love SU's Top note die, but wish it's bigger to use on one edge of the card. So I decided to sketch it digitally, then printed it on the computer in colors I like. I then hand cut them. The paper piercing trails were also hand sketched, then pierced.

I colored the butterfly with some old markers. The results were not what I expected, but love the grunge look.

Awesome flower quote

I just love Caardvarks' current challenge to use quotes on your projects. There are so many wonderful quotes out there that I wish I could make into stamps. I used one such quotes on this card by one of my favorite historical figures, Charles Spurgeon, known as the Prince of Preachers. I just love it.

The image on my card is my own illustration, which you can download from this post. I did a clean and simple card using StampTV's color challenge this week to use red and black (or any shades of either colors).

CAS Thank you

My entry for the Stamp Something Challenge (Clean and Simple Thank you). The image is my own illustration. It's a free digistamp that you can download from this post. I changed the image's color to red in MS Publisher. You can use Photoshop or any photoediting software, too.

The color combo is inspired by StampTV's color challenge this week.

Moxie Fab Rainy Day Challenge

I love the Moxie Fab's blog. Cathy does a great job highlighting the trends not only in paper crafting, but in fashion and housewares, etc. You can always find inspiration from her posts. She also has lots of giveaways and sometimes challenges. The current one is to make an encouragement card with wet weather gear (umbrellas, wellies or raincoats) on it.

Here are the cards I made for this challenge. I cut the umbrella top using the Oval Nestabilities die and slit punch. I hand cut the handles. I printed the sentiment on the computer and added some paper piercing. The top card uses patterned papers from Imagine That. The bottom card's base is from that Ikea card set I bought a couple of years ago.
