Outside of my comfort zone

This is one card that is totally new to me. I counted 8 layers on this one with lots of elements. As usual, this covers several challenges: Taylored Expressions' #4 (color combo), #9 (shabby chic style), #10 (sketch), #11 (to use distressing), #13 (to use stitching). I used dies and punches on this one for the ABC Challenge this week to use die cuts.

Another multi-challenge Card

Another card for Taylored Expressions' Birthday Bash. This one combines 4 of the 13 TE challenges:

#1 photo inspiration
#2 sketch
#7 tole technique
#13 to use stitching

In addition, it also covers this week's Pile It On (to make birthday cards) and ABC Challenge (to use circles).

And here's the close up.

Stamps: cupcakes (July KOTM, Unity), sentiment (Vintage picnic, PTI)
Ink: Memento Tux Blk, Copics
Paper: Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Lime Rickey by Basic Grey
Others: Nesties, Pumpkin Pie ribbon, button

This is the MOST...

...number of challenges I've done on one card. This simple, little card overs the following challenges for Taylored Expressions Birthday Bash this weekend:

#3 Paper Piecing
#6 a sketch
#7 to do the tole technique (if you don't know what it is like I did, click on the link to find out)
#8 to use color combo Teal, Rose and Yellow
#11 to use any kind of distressing
#12 to use buttons as the main embellishment
#13 to use stitching

That's a total of SEVEN challenges in one card. I love it when I can do that. I think I've just found a new personal cardmaking goal - to see if I can top that :-).

Here's the close up. I was so clueless about the tole technique and now I'm hooked. I just love all the dimension it creates.

Stamps: My Cuppa' Joe (GinaK Designs)
Ink: Memento Tux Blk, Copic (E53, E55)
Paper: Rose Romance, Urban Prairie PP (Basic Grey)
Others: buttons, Rose Romance ribbon, sewing machine

Sweet baby card

I made this for my daughter's teacher who just had a baby. We bought this cute little dress and sweater for her. Oh, so sweet. I miss having babies. :-)

Anway, on to the card, where I didn't do any stamping. First, it is inspired by Taylored Expressions Birthday Bash Challenge #5 to use this cute photo and #9 Shabby Chic style.

I used the sketch from Friday's Sketchers, the color combo is from Color Throwdown and the polka dots follow Pile It On. I used a kit from Rob and Bob Studios. The ribbon is from Offray, button is PTI.
