Today's card is something I made over a year ago. Before I went on vacation, I had to look for older cards that I hadn't shared on my blog yet and, lo and behold, I had quite a few. This is another publication reject and I can't say I really blame them :). The coloring was a little sloppy on this one.

The stamps are GinaK's Heartily Yours and Heartily Yours Addition.

Oldies But Goldies Hop

My friend Sue started this group on Facebook called Design Divas. I gladly joined just to get to know other crafty sisters in the stamping world. Today is our very first Oldies but Goldies Hop. Basically, we are required to use supplies (stamps, embellishments, papers, etc.) that we haven't used in at least six months. It's a great motivator to take out some neglected supplies and get creative.

My card today uses my Heartily Yours set, paired with Love Notes, last year's Gina K Valentine release. The papers are Cosmo Cricket and October Afternoon. The cardstocks are GinaK Sweet Corn and Red Hot.

Cards just for fun

I've been busy creating just for fun. My first card is for the new MoxieFab's Taintor-tude Challenge. It took me awhile to find this image, but I thought it's perfect for my Heartily Yours sentiment. This is probably the girliest card I've ever made. I debated whether to add that second bow, but I thought, why not? The card base is GinaK's Wine with Everything. The DPs are by SEI.

I made this set for a friend. This is another version of my card on a previous post, but I just love these October Afternoon Farm Fresh papers on GKD Kraft cardstock that I had to use them again. The flower image is from my Heartily Yours set.

Guest DT call?

Happy Monday, everyone. I hope you had a fabulous weekend. It's been chilly here, so we didn't venture out much, except to go to church. I don't mind it because it's just the perfect stamping weather.

Gina has started the snippets on her blog. Go check it out! I can't wait to show you my new set. Can anybody guess what it is? I'm always looking for a Guest DT to highlight my stamps. I'm thinking of having one with a 2-3 month commitment. Let me know what you think and I may have a Guest DT call right here on my blog.

A chance to give...

Today as the Gina K Designs team feature my latest stamp designs, Heartily Yours and Heartily Yours Additions, I am glad to give you an opportunity to help with me the Haitian people who continue to suffer the aftermaths of a natural disaster.

My heart goes out to them and wish I could be there to help with the disaster relief. Since that is not possible, I decided to help in other ways: to pray for them and give towards their physical needs. And I want to share that opportunity with you as well.

I was gone for a few days and didn't have time to link up to Alice's beautiful cards she made last week using Heartily Yours and Heartily Yours Additions. Aren't these beautiful? I love the color combo she used.



And look what I got in the mail? This beautifully colored card (the image was wonderfully illustrated by my talented friend, Jane) was sent to me by Alice. I have seen this on her blog and I admired it then. But it's so much prettier to see in person. I love it! I'll have another card to put on my shelf for inspiration. Thanks, Alice!

Alice's beautiful cards, RAKs and more RAKs

Have you been to Alice Wertz' blog lately? Oh my, I love everything she makes, but esp the ones below. As my guest DT, she made these beautiful cards using Heartily Yours and Heartily Yours Additions. Don't these cards just make you happy inside? Alice will be wowing us with more cards using these sets this whole month.

Now, look at what my other fabulous friends have sent me over the holidays? These wonderful RAKs (Random Act of Kindness) are all so lovely and I'm still in awe of my friends' generosity in sharing their beautiful artwork and some paper crafting goodies, too!

This oh-so-elegant card is made by my super talented friend from Germany, Vanessa Menhorn. I love the stitching she did. I wish I can do stitching curves like that :-). And make sure you check out her blog as she is just amazing and I'm not the only one who has noticed. She's been featured everywhere in blogdom.

This next one is from my lovely friend from Canada, Michelle Bertuzzi, who is also behind the cool sketches at Card Patterns. She and I both came from the Philippines and it's always a treat for me to "meet" fellow Filipinos in the crafting world. I don't know if you knew this, but she also illustrates for Unity stamps. My favorite of her creations is this wood grain stamp.

These gorgeous card and cute La-La-Land Crafts stamps are from my CA friend, Lisa Hjulberg. I had mentioned to her how these stamps remind me of my girls, then she sent them to me. Isn't that nice? And that card - oh I love it. Lisa creatively combined several images from a few of my GinaK Designs stamp sets to create this masterpiece.

My fellow crafter in Croatia, Jane Beljo, sent me a digital RAK, Noah's Ark, which is her own illustration that you can buy through Squigglefly. Make sure you check out her other digi images there. They are all so adorable and fun to color! And I have to apologize to Jane for forgetting to post here the previous RAK she sent me that includes lots of baggies that I used below and some of her yummy FIMO buttons. You know how much I love buttons, so I've been hoarding them. :-)

These goodies are from my very generous friend, Lisa Walsh. She knows how much I love butterflies, so she sent me these thoughtful papercraft goodies that can make any butterfly-lover's heart flutter. :-). And look at this beautiful card. Isn't it adorable? By the way, this may be difficult to do, but if you have to get one thing from the new Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog, you have to get that new Butterfly embosslits. I just love it! I've made at least 5 cards with it so far. You can view the catalog HERE. And if you don't have a demo, I highly recommend Lisa. I've been a very happy customer since I found her over a year ago. And she has great specials all the time.

Anniversary Day!

Fourteen years ago today, I married the most patient, wonderful man in the world. I've been a blessed wife and mom. I can give you a loooooong list of reasons why I am, but I don't want to make my hubby blush :-). All I have to say is that God has blessed me beyond what I deserve and expected when He brought me and Kris together. I hope that He will give us many more years enjoying life, ministry, our family and each other together.

So, in honor of my anniversary, I have two lovey-dovey cards to share with you for the CSS Inspiration Blog Hop. I followed the color scheme of the adorably sweet photos that you can find on Jessica's blog.

My Guest DT for Heartily Yours and Heartily Yours Additions

I have been dying to share t his wonderful news with you ever since my Guest DT agreed to design for me for my Heartily Yours and Heartily Yours Additions stamp sets. I have been her fan since I found her wonderful works of art over at the Hero Arts Flickr group. She has a distinct style that is cute, cheery and just altogether inspiring.

So, without further ado, please welcome the uber-talented,

Alice Wertz

I asked her a few questions so that we can all get to know her better.

1. How long have you been paper crafting and how did you get started?

I started scrapbooking about 3 or 4 years ago and got into card making not long after that. But I didn't start making cards seriously until the beginning of 2009 when I jointed the Hero Arts Flickr group. It's an incredibly warm and friendly group that gave me lots of encouragement and help!

2. What are your current favorite:

Techniques: stamping, distressing, coloring
Tools: Cuttlebug and my Nesties
Embellishments: ribbons and buttons
Coloring mediums: Copic markers, distress inks

3. What inspires you to create? Define your crafting style.

All the awesome card makers out there in the Blog Land/World! Thanks for all the wonderful crafters that are sharing their fabulous ideas everyday. I am so inspired by you all! As for my style... I think I am trying to stay simple and clean, although I do get inky and distress-y at times! =)

4. Tell us something about your family. Where are you from? Other interests besides paper crafting.

I was born and raised in Taiwan. I came to California to attend college about 8 years ago. I met my sweet hubby not very long after I settled in the Bay Area. We got married in 2008 and now live in Northern California with our two lovely cat "children." I love reading, knitting , crocheting, too. But I am not spending as much time as I used to on these other hobbies since I am obsessed with card making now... =)

5. Do you have a favorite quote/verse that you live by?

Never give up! Whenever things don't come out the way that I expected, I'd keep trying and see if I can make them work by changing the designs or elements a little. Chances are if I give it a little more time and patience, my projects would turn out fine. Sometimes I just have to keep trying if I have my mind set on a certain project. I am pretty stubborn that way. LOL!

Alice and I share a similar history of being born and raised in Asia, having both met our husbands in CA. I think that's so cool :-). Now, feast your eyes with some of Alice's creations. She also used the Car Favor Box template.

Some Kind of Wonderful

Card Patterns has started again after a brief hiatus for the holidays, but we're back with exciting changes. Have you seen the new DT members? Wow, I've been a fan of many of them and I am thrilled to be working alongside them. Another awesome news about CP is that I am now a permanent member, together with the sketcher-extraordinaire Michelle and uber-cool Tracy, of this great sketch challenge blog. It's very exciting!
