Here's my attempt at emboss-resist with distress inks. I love this technique and have done it many times, but can't quite make it look the way I want it to. For today's card, I didn't intend to make it look crumpled, but in the process of blending the colors, I accidentally crumpled one corner. So I decided to go all the way :). Even the tear was not intended, but it kind of fits with the whole card.
I think my problem in the past is I blend too much that it's hard to see the individual colors. Now I know better and will try this again.
For my next card, I decided to go ultra-feminine and use Copic markers. I made my own background paper by stamping the image multiple times. This took a while to color, but found it therapeutic. I worked on it with my daughter who likes to color as well.
I colored the background with a yellow marker and intentionally made it look "messy" to get that marbled look. The sentiment is from Lace Delight. A little bit of ribbon button and twine were what I intended to use for embellishments. But I had color smudges on some of the flower centers. Instead of fixing that with my Copic blender pen, I just decided to put these enormous Melissa Frances pearls to hide them :).
This is it for me this week. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
