Lots of Love for Lauryn Blog Hop and Blog Candy

I am honored to take part in today's hop to show our love and prayers for a sweet little girl named Lauryn.

Isn't this little girl just precious? Let me introduce you....Lauryn was diagnosed with Leukemia on March 27, 2014. She is currently hospitalized in the DC area undergoing chemotherapy to fight this terrible disease. Lauryn is Linda Payne's granddaughter...many of you in the stamping community probably already know sweet Linda!

As news of Lauryn's illness spread via social media, many of you have asked if there is anything you can do to help, so we have come up with a plan. We decided to have a Card Drive and would like to invite YOU to help by sending "happy mail" to Lauryn and her family.

Please create cards to share your love and encouragement for Lauryn and her family. Lauryn's parents are Josh and Elizabeth and she has two older siblings: Lily and Logan. We thank the Lord for this dear family and need to pray for them as they are seeking to glorify the Lord throughout this trial. If God moves you to give, I'm sure it will be a blessing to the Newsome family to receive your donation to help pay for the medical bills. I love it because it speaks of the faithfulness of God, whose love and care for us is never ending steadfast patient and unchanging. My prayers for Lauryn and her family is for physical healing; and also, that they will be drawn closer to this faithful God as they face this trial. He is faithful, He is good and He never disappoints.

Vintage Card #5 with Printable ATCs

Here is card #5 using the Printable Spring ATCs I have on my NinaB Printables etsy shop. You can view the rest of the cards using these ATCs HERE. The papers are Graphic 45. The doily is by SRM Stickers. The pearls are by Want2Scrap.

I inked all the edges and stitched the background papers. Some seam binding, buttons, twine and a paper flower with felt leaves adorn the card. I used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Runner and foam squares to adhere all these embellishments..

A little bit of distressing, stitching and using up the huge buttons that I usually have a hard time using on my cards.

I'm teaching a card class tomorrow, in conjunction with our monthly ladies' discipleship meeting. We're studying Biblical Worldview, or how we interpret the world around us in light of Scripture. Vintage Card #3 with Printable ATCs

It's been so beautiful here that spring has arrived. I haven't been much on the computer because of this. I'm a bit of a shutterbug and decided to take photos of the newly sprouted blooms in our yard. But before I show you some of the results of my impromptu photo shoot with nature, here is today's card. The colors were inspired by one of the photos I took.

I used the Printable Spring ATCs I have on my NinaB Printables etsy shop. 

The papers are Graphic 45. The pearls are Want2Scrap.

Vintage Card #2 with Printable ATCs and a Freebie

Hello, friends. Starting today, I have a series of cards I made using the Printable Spring ATCs I have on my NinaB Printables etsy shop. Today's card uses the ATC with the beautiful verse from Songs of Solomon.

The little tag and "Friend" sentiment is from my Penny Black's Blooming Tags set. I adorned this pretty pink seam binding with a paper flower and burlap twine. The tag has lovely Want2Scrap pearls.

Nothing like this verse to welcome spring. :) I inked the edges of my papers and added some subtle stitching. Some vintage lace and buttons add more chic-ness, don't you think? :)

I mentioned from my previous post that I've been trying new things. One of those is making my own vintage collage images. I had so much fun making these. Here are the results that you can find on my NinaB Printables ETSY store.

These ATCs are so easy to create with. I made a collection of 6 spring-themed collages that you can print and add to your project. Here is one card I made using one of the images. The papers are Graphic 45. I anchored the ATC with SAby3L photo corners with Want2Scrap pearls.

I had this die cut bird from Penny Black's Perched on my desk and it seemed to belong here. Some seam binding, paper flower and button finish the card.

DIY Quick and Easy Watercolored Card Set (Free Download)

Hello, friends. I have something new today that I've been working on. If you follow my blog regularly, you  know how much I've been enjoying mixed media projects. One thing I like to do is watercolor the backgrounds. I have found that as much as I enjoy watercoloring, my papers don't always work well with this medium. I have to use the thick cardstock that tends to be a little costly. I also have to wait for my watercolored backgrounds to dry and often need to flatten them between pages of a heavy book.

I thought, why not make a digital watercolor background that I can simply print out in varieties of colors, so I can skip the tedious process of watercoloring. This is what I came up with. I printed these out on regular cardstock (Walmart's Georgia brand, more specifically). I simply trimmed them and matched them with my cardstocks.

I then heat embossed Penny Black's Tweet, Tweet flower image, added the sentiments (from The Craft's Meow), bow and Want2Scrap bling. I mounted the front panel using SA by 3L foam squares.
