Some Moxie Fab cards to share...

Here are a couple of cards for the MoxieFab Christmas in the Old Country Challenge.

This first one is for a friend who's celebrating her birthday close to Christmas. I just love this paper line's festive colors. They remind me of a Filipino fiesta which, in the town where I grew up, was about 2 weeks before Christmas.

This next card is actually a gift card holder (perfect for the Crazy4You challenge too). I downloaded the Matroyshka image from Craftbits. I tried to imitate the nesting dolls, but in 2D. First, I printed the image in three different sizes. The largest one is the back, the smallest is the actual gift card holder and the middle is the front.

I stamped my text stamp (from my Vintage Borders set) as the background. This stamp is just perfect for this Moxie Fab challenge because I included "Merry Christmas" in several languages in it. If you look closely, I made sure the text in the 3 languages most dear to my heart, English, Tagalog (Filipino language) and Croatian are the most obvious. Aren't I pretty sneaky? :-)

And here are the "nesting" dolls all laid out. Silly me, I don't have a gift card to model here, so I used my CVS card. Gift cards are not a common thing here yet in Croatia. The back is just a white space for a personal note.

Just for you

When I started making this card, I had this idea of something clean and simple. Since I was already using a laser-cut DP, I didn't think I needed to do more than to stamp and color. Well, I kept adding stuff to it and finally this is the result. It's so different from my usual style, but it's good to try new things sometimes.

The DP is by Little Yellow Bicycle, one of the prizes I received for winning Moxie Fab a few months ago. The vase of flowers and sentiment are from my newest set, Lovely Shelf. I colored the flowers with Copics. The chipboard was sponged with Vivid Olive and dotted with a white gel pen.

I tried to stay up as late as possible last night at the Release party, but I finally crashed around 3AM (only about an hour after the party started). My aging body can't do all-nighters anymore :-). It was worth it, though. It's so fun chatting with so many different people from different parts of the world.

Here is my latest stamp set by GinaK Designs called Lovely Shelf. It's a versatile set that has a shabby feel.

GinaK Designs Previews, Day 3

Today's previews feature Gina's own design called Sweetest Memories. It is the new Free with Three this month. When you purchase 3 stamp sets, you get this one free! How cool is that?

This is a great set for both cardmaking and scrapbooking. I did a bit of distressing on my card. I used one of the sentiments form the set stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa. I also used images from Many Wishes and Tropical Flowers sets. I sponged the edges of my Sweet Corn cardbase. I also used Tan Leather CS, Chocolate Kiss ribbon, Vivid Inks (Tuscan Tan, Straw).

And I made this ornament using Basic Grey's Nook & Pantry DP and a combination of a few Spellbinder dies. I stamped the DP with the music stamp from Vintage Borders and the flower with the same sentiment that I used above. The bracketted word "family" is also from this set. The little strips of text are from Making Memories.

GinaK Previews, Day 2

Welcome to GinaK Designs' 2nd day of previews. Today, we are showing Theresa's newest set, Life is Good, and Rupa's Warm and Wonderful.

For my first card, I paper pieced the sweater from Rupa's set and dotted the center of the snowflakes with a white gel pen. I can see so many paper piecing possibilities with the cute images from Warm and Wonderful. They are fun to color, too, not to mention all the sweet sentiments that coordinate them. The card base is SU Pink. I also used Rocket Red ribbon and cardstock.

Life is Good is such a great outdoors set that is perfect for winter, vintage or masculine cards. Theresa is such an amazing illustrator, I love her realistic drawings! I decided to pair the log cabin from this set with Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg papers, which by the way, coordinate with many GinaK Designs cardstocks, including Pumpkin Spice and Chocolate Kiss. I stamped one of the sentiments a few times across the top, using white pigment ink. I colored the cabin with Koh-i-noor pencils and blended with a non-toxic equivalent of Gamsol (the only thing allowed in my luggage back from the US to Croatia). I bought the lace and ribbon locally.

For my last card, I combined both sets. Even though their styles are different, I think they coordinate well here. I used the Paper Paislee Mistletoe Collection. The train is from Life is Good and the sentiment is from Warm and Wonderful. I also stamped the flower with one of the sentiments from Theresa's set.

I have a set of notecards that I made also, but will have to wait to show you until the RELEASE PARTY on Thurs. I will be there. I hope you can join us, too.
