GinaK Designs Feb 2010 Previews, Day 3

Today we are featuring Asela's newest, Dream Birds, the new Card Kit set, Spring Florals.

Dream Birds is a set full of whimsical animals, flowers and other coordinating images and sentiments. I loved coloring this bird. The card base is one of two new additions to the Gina K Designs Pure Luxury collection. I used to dislike purple, but Gina converted me when she introduced Vibrant Violet a few months ago. Now she also has this pastel purple that is so pretty. It is so on trend as I read somewhere that violet/purple/lavender seemed to have dominated many of the new products that debuted at Winter CHA a few weeks ago. The patterned papers are part of my new digital paper pack, Swing Into Spring. I made sure the digipapers coordinate with the new GKD Spring Cardstock Collection, ribbons and buttons. You can see the new purple ribbon and yellow button from these new coordinating products on my card.


My second card features Spring Florals, the new Card Kit. These are so fun to color. I used my Copics on my card, but I can see these colored beautifully with water colors, too. The cardstocks I used are Innocent Pink, Creme de Menthe and the houndstooth patterned paper is from Swing into Spring digipaper pack.

GinaK Designs Feb 2010 Previews, Day 2

I am delighted to show you two cards today featuring Melanie's newest, Pressed Flowers, and Rupa's adorable Oh Baby! sets.

I was so excited when I saw Pressed Flowers for the first time because Melanie's A Year of Flowers is probably my favorite of all her sets. I love coloring the images in A Year of Flowers and it's a great go-to set for all occasions. Pressed Flowers are silhouette of the same images that don't require coloring. So when pressed (no pun intended :-)) for time, I can whip up elegant and beautiful cards quickly. This card took no more than 15 minutes to make. The sentiment is from my new set previewing on Wednesday night.

My next card uses Rupa's newest baby set, Oh Baby! And oh baby, let me tell you, it's just adorable. I've been wanting a set like this for a loooong time. In my ever growing collection of stamps, if you can believe it, I don't have a baby set (except a very old Stampin' Up set that's foam mounted - do you remember those?). And Oh Baby! has so many darling images that are fun to color and paper piece.

I did the tole technique on the teddy bear in this set, using Oct Afternoon Farm Fresh. The card base is Sweet Corn. The green polka dot patterned paper is from my new digipapers, Swing Into Spring.

As I mentioned above, the Pressed Flowers stamp set was designed to be a perfect companion to Melanie's A Year of Flowers set! It is also a perfect stand alone set as each bold stamp image lends itself to many techniques as you will see on each designer's blogs tonight!

GinaK Designs Feb 2010 Previews, Day 1

Welcome to Gina K Designs previews featuring Theresa's newest set, Hang in There, and a special set, Hope is Faith, for a very special cause.

My first card has an image that I just loved coloring. It's a cute racoon from Hang In There. Theresa's illustrations are amazing and she included the most adorable images of different animals with great sayings to go with them in this set. The card base is GinaK's Pumpkin Spice. The background was embossed with Cuttlebug Forest Branches folder and sponged with Vivid Tuscan Tan. The racoon was colored with Copics. The button is from the Autumn Button Assortment.

My next card features the Hope is Faith mini stamp set that will retail for $9.95. It was created to raise money for the Red Cross to help with the devastation in Haiti. $2.00 of every purchase of this stamp set will be sent directly to the Red Cross throughout the month of February.

As the first responders to disasters around the world, the Red Cross is there to help with the basic needs of these people who have suffered so much. By purchasing this mini set, you will help to make a difference to people who are desperate by supporting an organization that works tirelessly to feed, clothe, comfort and care for those in need.

The card base is Innocent pink sponged with Vivid Tuscan Tann. The background paper, also sponged, is my new digital paper pack, Swing Into Spring, and the frame is from my new set (more on these later this week). I colored the butterfly with Copics. The ribbon is from a local textile store.

Card Patterns Sketch #50

We are snowed in today and more snow is in the forecast tomorrow. My husband braved it to get some groceries for us. On his way home, the car started sliding slowly backwards. We live up on a hill, so snowy days could be a challenge. I am thankful because God protected him and Kris was able to park the car safely halfway down. He had to take a couple of trips to carry the groceries up to our house, but it could have been worse. What a good family man! I'm blessed, aren't I?

I was able to do some stamping today, getting ready for the GinaK previews starting Sunday night at 10PM, CST. I can't wait to show you my latest set.

I have a simple card for you, using my favorite Cosmo Cricket papers, Nutmeg. I used a quote from Following my Heart Aug09 KOTM. I stamped it with Memento Markers. I just love that quote, reminds me of the graduation speech when my husband finished seminary. The van is chipboard sticker, also a from CC. The cardbase is GKD Chocolate Kiss; the buttons from the Autumn Button Assortment.
