Some Flowery cards

I have two cards to show you today. This one uses GinaK Designs' newest Free with 3 set, Friends Are Forever. The background is embossed with the Victoria Embossing folder.

And this one for this week's Card Patterns sketch. The deadline is tonight! Find more info on the Card Patterns blog. I did an emboss resist technique again. I think it's one of my favorites now. The flowers are from the Big and Small Flowers by Hero Arts. The sentiment is from my Heartily Yours Additions set.

I've been busy preparing for some friends visiting next week. I am also teaching my last card class for the school year next Saturday. I have been cutting, measuring, designing cards and putting together kits for at least 20 people. I'm so thankful my girls like to help!

Summery Cards

A couple of fun cards to show you using GinaK's Beach Bum set, Dear Lizzy papers by American Crafts and some yummy SRM Stickers. I colored the images with Copics. I just love these papers, so perfect to bring sunshine to somebody's life. :-)

More Layers of Color Sneak Peek

Now my sample for today uses the stencil for dry embossing with the Cuttlebug. I then inked the cardstock, and using the raised part as a guide, I paper pierced for added effect. Isn't that flourish beautiful? The birds are from the Backyard Birds set. I've been wanting a realistic bird stamp set and this one is just perfect.

Some Carla Inspiration

I have two cards from one of my Designing Friends, Carla Suto, using Fine Furnishings and Fine Furnishings Addition sets by GinaK Designs.

First up is a classic and elegant card. I just love black and white cards, don't you? This would be perfect for Anniversary, Wedding or any occasion card.

I love the vintage masculine feel of this second card. I wouldn't have thought of using pearls for a masculine card, but Carla made them work so well on her card. I love her color combo.

On a different note, we finally got summer weather in Croatia. We were heating our house just last week and today, our high is 86 deg F. I'm one happy lady :-) My girls still have two weeks of school. Croatian schools end late. I just wish it's over already, but at least we have the nice weather to enjoy :-).

Emboss Resist and Split Negative Cards

Welcome to the Botanicals Card Kit blog hop. Tonight we are featuring the new Botanicals stamp set with a special technique themed blog hop event! I decided to do two techniques on my cards below: emboss resist and split negative. If you want to know how to do an emboss resist, watch Gina's videos HERE. For my first card, I stamped the botanical images randomly using Versamark ink on a 5.25" x 4" ivory cardstock panel. I cut it in half. I heat embossed half with white, the upper half with Cranberry powder. I then inked the panels with Distress inks. I mounted the two panels on Kraft cardstock.

This card is straight emboss resist using the Garnet ink for the text background and white embossing powder for the main image.
