A Landmark Post

Today's post is my 500th! Can you believe it? And sometime last night, my blog visitors just hit the 200K mark! Wow, thank you all for coming to visit me and commenting regularly. Very few things thrill me more as a cardmaker than your encouraging words and knowing people are inspired by my work. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

My card today is for the new Stamp TV/GinaK Designs Sketch Spotlight Feature. Here is my card using my latest Heirloom Ornaments set. I stamped the ornament in Memento Rhubarb Stalk and the sentiment in Vivid Vintage Green. The papers are Graphic 45 Christmas Past. The cardstock is GinaK Cranberry Tart. I used the Spellbinders Fancy Tags with the sentiment. The ribbon is a RAK from my friend Laura.

Here is this week's sketch. I hope you can play along. More info-->>HERE.

Hot cocoa, anyone?

I have something special to share with you today that my friend, Justine, made with the Winter Mittens stamp set. Look at all the details on these gift jars. I love the layered die cuts and those pretty bows on the side. And don't forget the buttons and twine with the mittens...just beautifully executed.

They would look pretty even just to put on a shelf for decoration. :-)

You will find the details on HER BLOG, including the recipe for this yummy concoction. Thank you, Justine, for sharing your talent with us. Your neighbors will surely be blessed by your work of love.

Have a good weekend, everyone.

Introducing Winter Mittens and Heirloom Ornaments

Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you have a great weekend ahead. The sun is shining in Croatia and the weekend is off to a good start already.

I am excited to show my two latest stamp sets from GinaK Designs. First is one that is perfect for gift giving, Winter Mittens and it coordinates with the Spellbinders Nested Mittens die set. Here are some tips on how to best utilize this set:

The sentiments all fit inside the oval and rectangular frames. The oval can be die cut using the Spellbinders Oval Nestabilities. The rectangular frame can be used as a cuff for the largest die as seen on my tutorial for Christmas tags at the end of this post.
My second set, Heirloom Ornaments, coordinates with the Spellbinders Heirloom Ornaments die set.
Here is a shabby vintage card I made with this set. The papers are Webster's Pages. The music background was made using the Vintage Borders stamp set.

I forgot to mention that I die cut two sheets of paper at a time and it cut without a problem.

Heirloom Ornaments

I am so delighted that you joined the Gina K Designs crew today for the November 2010 Release. I have another set to highlight today that I designed to go with Spellbinder Dies. Both the stamp set and die set are called Heirloom Ornaments.

I want to show you how you can create both detailed and CAS (clean and simple) styles with this set. The first two cards are the style I'm usually drawn to that borders between Elegant and Vintage Shabby. This card uses Cranberry Tart, Grass Green and Ivory cardstocks and Graphic 45's Christmas Past patterned papers. The globe ornament fits inside a 1-3/4" Spellbinders Circle die or a 1-3/4" circle punch.
This card also uses the same cardstocks and patterned papers. the strings were drawn using a white pen.The next two sets are clean and simple cards that are easily mass produced. Please click on the photo for a larger view. The inks I used are Vivid Garnet, Memento Dandelion and Vivid Aqua.
For this set, I stamped the large ornament in Heirloom Ornaments in light inks (Vivid Lavender, lemon Ice and Memento Summer Sky) as a background for the sentiment.
This is what the inside looks like:

Lovely Labels 2 Lovelies

I hope you are enjoying the GinaK Designs previews still going on now. I have one more set to show you tomorrow. And of course, it coordinates with Spellbinder dies!

Today's cards are by two of my talented friends who made these gorgeous Lovely Labels 2 cards. First is by Jennie Harper. I love this Graphic 45 paper that makes such an elegant, vintage card. The verse is from my Vintage Borders set. You can find more details of her card -->>HERE.

The second card is by Carla Suto, who makes such beautiful vintage cards. Here's another one of her beauties. She even made that beautiful flower. Find more info on her card-->>HERE.
I have tons to show you tomorrow featuring the new Heirloom Ornaments set. Can't wait! :-)
