I received a message today from one of my generous cyber friends Doris and she had featured a card on her blog using my Cupcake Mix 'n Match set. It's always a treat to see talented ladies use my simple illustrations and turn them into something beautiful. And speaking of treats, Doris sent me a beautiful card and sample of Flower Soft in the mail. I've always been curious what those are and now I know. I can't wait to use it on my project. Thanks so much, Doris.
And one more thing...I got a comment today from Crystal saying that she has something for me on her blog. I was really intrigued and I was so surprised that she was giving me my very first blog award.
The Exalting Christ blog award is given to bloggers who consistently exalt the name of Christ on their blogs. What a joy to see crafters blend their passion for Christ and papercrafting. This award is given to bloggers who share Christ through their posts or through the design of their artwork. We are commanded in Scripture to be "salt and light" sharing the Good News of Jesus no matter where we are (Matthew 5:13-16). This award is just a way members of Women to Women: Sharing Jesus can say thanks for exalting Christ with us!
Some of the blogs I follow have this and I always thought, "Wow, what an honor that must be!" And here I am. Thanks, Crystal, I am truly honored. I am a new blogger and already have been encouraged by so many artists out there who exalt Christ through their creations. I hope that my work somehow point others to the beauty and the goodness of God. To Him alone be the glory.
EDIT: Somebody has pointed out that these images may be violating PTI's copyright. I made these grids with dots and dashes. However, even though they're not identical to PTI's stamps, I decided it's safer to remove these links. I don't want to be accused of copyright violation. Thanks for understanding. To make up for this gaffe, I will be offering other downloads that are not stepping into anybody's copyright in the future, so stay tuned.
My husband put together a couple of furniture for my little craft corner over the weekend. We did it together and believe me, it was a challenge assembling them in our limited floor space. We bought these a couple of weeks ago from Ikea. They were my Christmas gifts and were on sale! But, we've all been busy lately. I really didn't expect we'd be able to put them together before we leave for the US. But, my dear hubby surprised me when he said he was putting them together yesterday! Well, here is my little crafty corner.
I store items I don't use often, like my laminator and Cricut, in the bottom two shelves, so they usually stay close even when I'm working. My big paper cutter is on top of my washing machine on the other side of the curtain.
My desk usually doesn't look this neat . I know it looks cramped, but I love that everything is within reach. It's just perfect for me.
These poppies are actually stickers and were also purchased from IKEA. Aren't they cute?
And look how much I can fit in these drawers? I didn't open all of them. One has all the stamps I use often. And one drawer has my smaller paper stacks and some tools. This piece has wheels so I can move it around if I need anything from the two lower shelves. I make close to 400 cards a year from this little spot.
I'm a happy wife and it's a blessed life! God is good.
Your next stop, if you're touring Joni's craft space blog hop, is MARTHA.
I am a new PTI customer. I just received my first stamps less than a month ago as gifts and I've enjoyed playing with them so much. I love the Wishing You set, just perfect for spring. If you frequent my blog, I hope you're not tired of these tulips yet. I just want to make use of them before they become out of season. :-)
I just found a new challenge blog, specifically for European PTI fans called A Passion for Papertrey. For this week, they asked participants to make a friendship card. And I have just the perfect cards for it because I made these for a friend who wanted personalized note cards.
All Supplies from PTI unless noted otherwise: Stamps (Wishing You), Paper (Aqua Mist, True Black), Ink (Basic Black, Really Red, Mint Melody by SU), Others (gingham ribbon, slit punch and word window punch by SU).
Supplies: Stamps(Wishing You), Paper (DCWV spring cards, green CS from stash), Ink (Summer Sun and Old Olive by SU), Others (New Leaf ribbon and pearl button).
Nichole issued a challenge to make a card based on a DT member's inspiration for their Spring Fling projects. I chose Becky Oehler's and here's her inspiration:
And here's my card.
I used the stems and leaves from the Wishing You set and the blooms from Guidelines 2 set.
Other supplies: Papers (Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip) Ink (Basic Brown, Versamark, Rose Romance, Old Olive, Summer Sun, Really Red)
Here's another take on the inspiration using the more springy Orchid Opulence color instead of Really Red. This was actually the first card I made, but the colors were off. It's my printer's fault :-). I printed Becky's inspiration and somehow the red didn't really show.
