2S4Y Thinking of you

I finally got one precious hour to stamp and clean up my desk a little bit today. We've been busy traveling all over the southeast and on the days we're not, I'm usually catching up on laundry and other things. I'm so thankful for my mother-in-law who makes sure we're fell fed while we're in GA, so that's one less thing I have to worry about.

I made this card for my friend, who just found out she has breast cancer. It's devastating news, but I trust in a sovereign God, who is in control of all things. I hope this cute little bird will cheer her up.

I used my Koh-i-noor pencils and a non-toxic brush cleaner I found at Michael's. It's a safer alternative to OMS, which I can't pack in my suitcase. This is the first time I'm using this coloring method and, though I know I still have lots to learn, I'm more than pleased with the results. I love this new GinaK Pure Luxury Red CS. It has a striped texture. The used this week's sketch from 2Sketches4You challenge.

Stamps: So & So Loves (Unity), Trendy Trees (SU)
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Really Red, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: GKD Red Pure Luxury CS, cream CS
Other: Brown ribbon by Michaels, MS border punch

  3. This card is blooming brilliant! I thought I could see faces in the bark of the trees, and then I spotted the hearts. I think this will cheer your friend up no end. When she looks at it she will remember you are with her in your thoughts, and I'm sure there will be many times you will be called on to be with her in person.

Trees are healing, so rather apt wouldn't you say? Nice one.

  7. Lovely card Nina. As a sister to a 3x breast cancer survivor, it is devastating news for the entire family. I know she will be pleased to get a note from you letting her know she's in your thoughts and more importantly your prayers.
