TCM Sneak Peek: As We Gather

It's the end of the month, that means more sneak peeks of the new October release of The Craft's Meow. Today, we're previewing a new set by TCM's new illustrator, Kaitlyn Ord, called As We Gather. Just For You Birdcage

Happy Saturday, friends! Do you have any crafting plans today? I'm hoping to get some done later today. I don't feel so well and have lots of deadlines coming up with designing and that takes priority over card making. But, I'm sure I'll find time :)

Today's card uses some of my favorite The Craft's Meow stamps, Fly Free and Simply Delightful. All the papers and cardstock shapes are Pink Paislee's Butterfly Garden.

Fall Charlotte

Today's card is for Card Patterns Sketch 133. Our sponsor is Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps and they provided us with wonderful images to play with. I so enjoyed coloring Fall Charlotte. It's been awhile since I just sat down to color with my Copics. The papers are K&Co.

It seems the talk of the town are the new changes in Facebook. It definitely takes some getting used to and I've found myself complaining. Then, a friend reminded me that if that's my biggest complaint, then I lead a pretty cushy life. There are certainly more important things in life than FB. One of which is a story of a young man that encouraged me this morning.

Nick Vujicic is a limbless man who serves the Lord faithfully despite his disability. I have heard of him before but never bothered to check out his story. He's Serbo-Croatian by heritage, but was born in Australia. I thought I'd share a link to his incredible story because I was in tears this morning just praising God for this young man's life. I hope you will be encouraged as well.

Speaking of FB, please consider joining my NinaB Designs Facebook page for more updates on my designs. (Oh, what a shameless plug! :-) Thank you!

Layers of Color Release Party Blog Hop

EDIT: The giveaway is now over and the winner is announced HERE. Thank you.

We are so glad this day is finally here. Laura and I worked hard to put together the Layers of Color's Christmas Collection for this release and the LOC team is very excited to share it with you today.

It is an absolute delight for me to work with my dear friend Laura and combine our styles to create this new collection of LOC stamps. These special designs are created from our hearts to celebrate Christ's birth. In our new Christmas Collection we are offering Spellbinders die coordinating stamps, images for Christmas cards, quick 'n easy gift tags, and timeless card verses. There are  lovely classic designs that are wonderful beyond the Christmas season too!

Here is my card for today's hop. I used the Holly Angel cling art stamp and Sentimental Banners clear art stamp set, which coordinates with Spellbinders' Ribbon Banner dies! I love these dies so much, so I had to design stamps to go with them. It covers just about any sentiment I could think of that could fit in one of the 4 banner stamps in the set.
Merry Christmas Angel
Don't you just love this beautiful angel that Laura illustrated? I colored it with Copics. Leave me a comment on this post and I will draw a winner who will receive a sample. The winner will be announced tomorrow!

Before you enjoy viewing the entire Layers of Color's Christmas Collection, first enter the Grand Prize Drawing where you have the chance of winning all seven new release art stamps on the LOC blog! There is also another giveaway on the Layers of Color Art Stamps on Facebook as soon as they have 300 fans, so invite your friends, too! The winner will be announced on the Layers of Color blog and on Facebook  tomorrow, September 20th.

Please visit our designer art galleries that have been recently updated with the Layers of Color design team's newest projects! Here are the LOC team's blogs to see more Layers of Color's Christmas Collection creations and GIVEAWAYS!

LOC Sneak Peek: Christmas Blessings

Here is another card featuring one of my new clear sets from Layers of Color, Christmas Blessings. It is full of vintage goodness. Laura and I worked on this set together and I hope you will like our labor of love. The release of the new stamps is on Monday, Sept 19th!

I colored the image with Copics. Because of its large size, this stamp would be perfect for clean and simple cards with a vintage flair, for mass producing cards.

Have a Fun {tache} tic day

Hello, friends. Before I share today's card, I just want to inform those who purchased from my recent stamp sale, there might be a slight delay in getting the stamps to you. My sweet mom is doing the mailing for me. One of my parents' close friends passed away and they are just slowing down a bit for a couple of days. Thank you for your understanding.

It's been a month since I sat down to create a card. We were on vacation, then school started and now we are working on our house to prepare for a more comfortable winter. Life gets busy, and it feels good to take a break and get creative.

My Craft's Meow teammates shared their projects using my latest TCM stamps, Fun{tache}tic a couple of weeks ago. and I finally got to sit down and create with this unique and fun set. I had a blast coming up with sentiments to go with this trendy image. I colored the mustache with Copics.

Remembering also the good things

This was a post I wrote two years ago and I thought I'd repost it, with some changes, as we remember 9/11 today. Thank you to those who sacrificed their lives in order to save others. Thank you to those who work hard to ensure the freedom we so often take for granted.
--------------------
This post is a little bit more personal than usual, but I really want to share this with you all. Today marks the 10th anniversary of one of the most tragic days in American modern history. I remember it like it was yesterday.

I was pregnant with my 2nd child, Gaby, when it happened. We had planned to have her in Croatia, like I did with our first, but due to some complications in my pregnancy, my husband and I thought it was best to go back to the US to have her. It was a last-minute decision, so we were pressed for time as my due date was only a month away.

We flew out early morning on the 12th, just hours after that WTC attacks. It was so difficult to get the tickets out of Croatia that we knew if we didn't leave, I had to delivery my baby there. When we arrived in Amsterdam, our stopover, we were told we couldn't fly to Los Angeles. We were stranded there for 4 days, along with so many tourists who were sleeping all over the airport because no hotel rooms were available. Thankfully, we have some friends, who lived just 10 minutes away from the airport and they were able to accommodate us. God provided for us.

When we finally got on the plane, it was only 30% full because the airline didn't have time to notify all the passengers that it was ready to fly into LA. It was only by God's grace that we came to the airport when they were loading the plane. Because it was almost empty, I was able to lay down and even caught some sleep. Again, God was good to provide this little blessing. A month later, our precious baby Gaby was born.

The memories that most people have of 9-11 incite disbelief, anxiety, sadness and even anger. I have experienced some of those, too, especially as I read about the orphaned children of the victims. But, I have a different recollection of that time. As devastating as it was, it was also a proud moment for not only Americans, but for everybody who stands up for freedom. We were wounded, but weren't destroyed. The terrorists disrupted our way of life, but they didn't take away our hope.

We met new heroes among ordinary people that day, who continue to inspire us today. We were reminded again to appreciate life even with its challenges; to pray for our nation and its leaders; to think about peoples of many nations who live with terror everyday; to support the many men and women who work hard to ensure our freedom; and to hug our loved ones a little tighter.

For me, 9-11 was another opportunity that God showed Himself as the giver of good things, our faithful protector and our sovereign Lord through a very difficult situation. That is a comfort to know and a wonderful truth to cling to as I try to live daily in this scary, insecure world.

In peace I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O LORD, make me to dwell in safety. ~Psalm 4:8

And here's my Gaby now, who's a reminder of God's goodness every day.

Layers of Color's Christmas Release Sneak Peek

The day's finally here when the Layers of Color team can share sneak peeks of our upcoming Sept 19th release of holiday stamps. Laura and I designed 5 clear sets and 2 cling art stamps that are focused on Christmas. I do have one set that coordinates with the Spellbinders Ribbon Banners dies! Most of the new stamp sets were collaborative work between me and Laura. I'm so pleased that our styles are blended in these designs.

My card uses the Angelic and Christmas Verses clear art stamp sets. Laura illustrated the Angelic set and I put together several Christian sentiments and quotes for the Verses set. You will find just the perfect words for the outside and inside of your holiday cards. They will make mass producing beautiful cards quick and easy.

Just like my Encouragement set, Christmas Verses includes some hand-picked quotes from my favorite authors and Bible verses that reflect the message I want to convey in my cards. I mixed and matched some gorgeous, vintage fonts that I hope you will like, too!
Rejoice
Check out the Layers of Color blog for more sneak peeks. And please consider joining the Nina B Designs Facebook Page. Thank you! Have a great weekend!

Adore Butterflies

I have updated my STAMP SALE post, if you care to look. They are a great deal, and so are going out fast! Please email me, via tab above, if you're interested in any of them.

Today's card is another from my vault of Publication Rejects. I should add a category for this :). I used Layers of Color's Butterfly Collector. I just adore butterflies, don't you? The metal thingy is by Making Memories, which I've had in my stash for a long time now. If I have the chance to change this card, I would add embossing on the bottom white panel. It needs something. :)

Remember all these LOC happenings going on now:
Tomorrow begins the sneak peeks for the new Sept 19th release. Make sure you visit the Layers of Color blog for more inspiration!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hey there, Hot Rod!

My STAMP SALE is in full swing. I still have some left. Thank you to those who already purchased some of them.

Today's card is something I made over a year ago. Before I went on vacation, I had to look for older cards that I hadn't shared on my blog yet and, lo and behold, I had quite a few. This is another publication reject and I can't say I really blame them :). The coloring was a little sloppy on this one.

The stamps are GinaK's Heartily Yours and Heartily Yours Addition.

TAC news, Winner and Thanks!

While I was on vacation (which was great, by the way, and I will share photos in a future post), I received an email that The Angel Company was closing its doors. It came as a surprise and was greatly saddened by the news. However, I decided not to let it affect my vacation and use my time away to pray and think.

Here are some things I've learned, not just with TAC's closing in mind, but life, in general, with all its disappointments:
  • Knowing God's sovereign in all things is a source of comfort. I always knew that He is in control, but when life brings unexpected turns, this truth becomes more real and that brings peace of mind.
  • When I seek God's wisdom, pursue excellence and work with integrity as I embark on opportunities set before me, I can live without regrets with the decisions I make.
  • I'm reminded again to have compassion for others as we are all affected by the economic hardships all over the world. I need to pray more often for the many friends affected by unemployment, foreclosures, etc.
  • Everything happens for a reason. The Bible says, "All things work together for good to those who love God" (Romans 8:28). And it's exciting if and when I finally know what the reason is.
  • Every bump in the road is an opportunity to shine for Christ. Every sorrow/suffering/difficulty we face changes us. It's up to us if we will become bitter or better people because of it. I have to keep in mind that it's the better people who make real impact in the world and that's what I want to be.
  • I am so blessed to have Kris by my side. Disappointments/challenges are hard, but having someone committed to you to go through with the hardships is a blessing. Troubles become adventures and, hand in hand, we both look forward to what lies ahead. Problems make our bond stronger and I learn to appreciate more the wonderful gift that I have in him. I believe God expands our capacity to love as we grow in Him and I know our love for each other grows with each difficulty we go through together. For that alone it is worth facing the challenges!
  • Finally, the troubles of this world make me long more for heaven, where there are no tears or sorrows. My faith will become sight and I will enjoy a perfect communion with my Savior for eternity.
I have received so many sweet comments and encouraging emails from you. Thank you! Many have also inquired about the future of my TAC designs. Some have shared their touching stories about how certain stamps remind them of their loved ones. I am overwhelmed and humbled by your support and love for my designs. I am weighing my options and do not have a definite answer at the moment. I will announce any decision I make regarding my designs through this blog or my Facebook page, hopefully soon! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued interest.

And now, the winner of my Vacation giveaway is...Linda Carson! Please email me, via tab above, to claim your prize. Check my Facebook page for the winner of the Spellbinder dies. I appreciate all your sweet comments and daily visits, friends. It means so much that we can connect, even only through cyberspace. And thank you for letting me share my heart with you all.

Happy Bird-day

TGIF! Today's card is for this week's Card Patterns sketch. Our sponsor is My Craft Spot, which provided the beautiful fibers that grace my card.

The stamps are The Angel Company's How Tweet of You. The papers are Echo Park's Country Drive, which go well with this stampset. I die cut the main focal image with Spellbinders Circle and Lacey Circle dies.

Warm Get Well Wishes

Hello, friends! I can't believe it's the 1st of September. Please make sure you check out The Craft's Meow's Sept release hop going on now. Since I'm on vacation, I haven't been able to participate during the previews. I have one new set being released today and it's different from anything I've ever designed before. I had so much fun illustrating it. I esp love the sentiments that go with the images.

Today's card uses Layers of Color's Floweret cling art and Teacup Blessings set. This card went through many transformation and so the layout is something new to me. I colored the flowers with Copics. The sentiment was punched out.
